We collect your email address for authentication, your food preferences and allergen settings, and anonymous usage analytics. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to provide personalized food recommendations, allergen warnings, and health scores. Preferences are stored securely in our database and synced across your devices.

Data Storage

All data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted in the EU. We use row-level security to ensure you can only access your own data.

Image Processing

What We Process

Barcode images (camera-based barcode scanning) and product label images (OCR text extraction — Beta feature, coming soon).

How We Process Images

All image processing happens entirely on your device (in your browser)
Images are NEVER uploaded to our servers
Images are processed in temporary memory and immediately discarded after use
Only extracted text (barcode numbers or label text) is used for product search

Your Camera

Camera access requires your explicit permission. You can revoke it at any time in your browser settings. The camera feed is only active while you are using the scanning feature.

Data We Collect From Images

We collect barcode numbers (EAN codes) extracted from barcode scans and, in the future, extracted text strings from OCR processing. We do NOT collect the images themselves.

Legal Basis

Consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) — you choose to use the camera feature. Legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — providing product lookup functionality.
